Hoosier Explorers Field Trip Fund School Supply Drop 2019

Teachers everywhere spend money from their own pockets to insure that their students have the materials they need to be successful in the classroom. To kick off the 2019 – 2020 school year PCCU decided to help local fourth grade teachers out. We combed school supply lists across local districts for the most commonly requested items, and then we went shopping!

The staff took a mountain of supplies and divided them out, packing them in reusable tote bags before staging them at PCCU’s three offices. Starting on Friday, August 23rd deliveries began rolling out. The majority of them went out on  Wednesday, August 28th. Every public school fourth grade in Henry and Wayne Counties received supplies like pencils, crayons, paper, erasers, glue sticks, and tissues. All thanks to the generosity of PCCU’s members and staff!

Along with the supplies, staff delivered invitations to the area’s fourth grade teachers to participate in the Hoosier Explorers Field Trip Fund. While a number of the schools had already participated in the last two school years, we hope these invites will help more local students hit the road and see more of Indiana in the coming year.

You’re welcome, PCCU is happy to help!
