We would like to make our members aware that there was a cybersecurity incident involving TruStage, one of our third party partners, who provides our members with products and services like Accidental Death & Dismemberment (ADD) insurance, Credit Life & Disability insurance, GAP, etc.
TruStage has been working with law enforcement and the appropriate regulators, while also employing an outside cybersecurity firm to assist in their investigation. During this process, TruStage has been providing information as it becomes available. At this time, they have not notified us of any PCCU members or their data that have been directly affected by this incident. They have also been working to rebuild their digital infrastructure in a safer, more secure format to prevent future incidents.
Members who have loans with debt protection with us may notice multiple charges on their statements. TruStage was unable to process their monthly payments for their debt protection during July. On 8/31, we were able to process the July payments that were missed. On 9/1, we were able to process the August payment. We were able to process the September payments as normal on 9/30.
As the investigation by TruStage continues, we will update you and provide further guidance and assistance as necessary. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at trustagequestions@pccu.com or by calling us at 800-582-7228.
