PCCU’s Second Chance Checking Account is a safe, less expensive, and more efficient way for members to pay receive direct deposits, pay bills, and rebuild their financial future.
Second Chance Checking has no minimum balance, and it does not pay interest. The account fee is $2.50/week.
How It Works:
- Open an account even if you have had trouble with an account before. It’s a low-cost checking account— to help you keep more of your money.
- Keep an account open with no minimum balance—just be sure you have enough in your account to cover the small weekly service fee ($2.50).
- There are no overdraft privileges associated with this account. If a debit payment item is returned for nonsufficient funds you will be charged the current NSF fee and be given 5 business days to bring the account positive or the account will be closed.
- After having the “Second Chance Checking” account for one year, from date of open, you can request to have your account reviewed. This review is member initiated. You are eligible for our no service fee checking account if your account is in good standing for the last 12 months. An account is considered to be in good standing if it has never gone negative and has had no returned items. If the account is found to be ineligible, you may request a review again after 12 months of your account being in good standing. Again, this review is member initiated.
